Short Stories for Younger Children - Leo Schoof

Little Spokes

Leo SchoofI was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, in 1941 and moved with our family to Australia in 1958.Our marriage has been blessed with seven daughters and my wife and I now have twenty four grand-children.
From 1968 up to 1975 the Lord used me in the mission work amongst the aboriginals, the natives of this country. The Lord gave me a different task from 1975 when I was privileged to serve the church as elder for a number of years. After 25 years as an insurance agent I worked for three years in Reformed Education in the Special Ed Department.
This was a most blessed time of my life. Having two grandchildren with special needs it is understandable that I have a soft spot for special needs children. Hence my many years on the Board of our Eucalypt Association, the association assisting those with special needs. I presently serve this association as Special Projects Officer, a task which has the love of my heart. It is, therefore, not surprising that some of my stories, as well as one of my poems, reflect this great interest and passion for the lives of those people and the families with special needs.
